How to Make a Bukkit Server -- FOR MAC
Hi guys,
first of all you will need to have a windows or mac or even linux pc with atleast 2GB of RAM...
Then after that.. you need to download Bukkit's Latest Recommended Build which can be found on their homepage (currently 1.4_01 servers)...
http://www.forums.bukkit.org

Once downloaded .. place the craftbukkit-0-0-1-snapshot.jar inside a folder on your desktop (most preferably) and open up Terminal and rename your .jar file to "craftbukkit.jar" without the speech quotes.

Then depending on how much RAM you want to use... change this accordingly:
java -Xms1028M -Xmx1028M -jar craftbukkit.jar nogui

  • 1028M for 1GB RAM
  • 2056M for 2GB RAM
  • and so on.. just look up in google Smile google is your friend...

Then after that go back to your terminal window and type "cd' followed by a space.... and then drag your folder with your craftbukkit.jar into terminal...

press enter

then copy and paste the code above: "java -Xms1028M -Xmx1028M -jar craftbukkit.jar nogui" with whatever ram you want and hit enter...

You will see all these randomly generated files but no errors will occur... if you see any then just leave them....

and now basically you have a server!

You can get plugins from here : http://forums.bukkit.org/forums/plugin-releases.17/
and they do all sorts of things... but recommended i choose this one for every single basic command with warps and teleports and everything so heres the link: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/gen-essentials-v2-1-alpha-collection-of-essential-plugins-in-one-package-670.1262
and also use my plugin please Very Happy : http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/gen-mcdmessage-v0-2-display-your-own-custom-message-to-your-players-670-684.13734/

Thanks guys and if you need any extra help just reply and ill answer your questions.... i could not be bothered to show how to portforward for mac because there are loads of different options so just let me know...
